STOP!!!
If you get squeamish at all about needles, IVs, bruising, etc ... please skip this post.

As I mentioned before, this week I have exploratory surgery scheduled to help figure out why I keep bleeding .. from damn near everywhere. We have partial clues. Like a disease I won't talk about ... super low platelets, low white blood cell count, and suddenly, an iron deficiency.
In prep for the surgery, we need to make sure that I don't bleed out on the gurney, so they scheduled me for infusions of iron and platelets. That was supposed to be on Monday, at my oncologist's office.Monday: They forgot to order the platelets, so they only gave me the iron. No problem getting the IV in. But it sure did effect me... so much itching! The Benadryl they gave me to counteract the itching made my legs go wonky.
≈==========
TUESDAY (first 5 tries):
Time for the platelets / plasma, two bags.
Two people, 5 tries and 1.5 hours of painful stabbings, and they still couldn't get an I.V. started on my left side (Left preferred because I had breast cancer surgeries on the right side.)
As the pic shows, about 8 hours after the pokes, some nice bruising began to show. Not surprised. I bruise at even a hint of a smack.
But ...
===========
TUESDAY (last / 6th try):
Even though trying on my right side could be dangerous for me, it was either that or come back on Wednesday.Uh, no.
I am already exhausted.
So we tried the right side and immediately got it in.
I did end up bruising there too, but honestly, it is hard to care...
==========
Successful day. Kinda.
Now I have the bruises to deal with.
I still have another infusion to go ... maybe. Then the surgery. Recovery. And maybe, answers.
(Hoping Weslee won't give my friend a rough time, and shows his 'nice' face. She knows his meds, his rescues, his food preferences and etc. Taking an overnight bag in case my outpatient becomes an inpatient.)
........
Weslee needs more brain surgeries for his seizures. To help, please like, follow and share .. PLUS .. please go to his Medical GoFundMe or to our Paypal ... Thank you.
