Jul 30: Vid of Seizure Dog

It isn't too often that I come across videos of people having seizures, especially those showing a seizure dog doing its' job. This one called to me.

Soon after Weslee's epilepsy diagnosis, we tried the dog route. Beautiful white lab that Weslee named Krypto. He got a little bit of training before he came to us but just didn't really help. It was frustrating.

When Krypto started having seizures himself, I began to think maybe that was why he didn't / couldn't alert: he had his own to deal with.

When Weslee and I moved from Colorado to Kentucky a few years ago, we gave K-Dog to a wonderful woman whose daughter passed from SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death from EPilepsy). She kept us up to date on his health and life. K-Dog recently passed.

We have been pet free since we moved here. I can't handle the responsibility (and cost) right now, and there aren't many people who would / could come by to feed and walk when we are at the hospital (for Weslee or for me).

(Same reasoning why we don't have chickens or quail right now.)

Maybe one day we will try a seizure dog again ... way way in the future.
